After reviewing the functions of the NICE Workforce framework developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS), I would like to focus my career on Protection and Defense (PD) and Oversight and Governance (OG). The Protection and Defense function appeals to me because I like learning how to prevent attacks and gaining hands-on experience with threat detection and digital evidence analysis. I also like the Oversight and Governance function because I can advise management and advocate for an affordable but robust cybersecurity posture that meets organizational goals. I am least interested in the Investigation function because I prefer to work in a business setting rather than a criminal justice career.
