Are there certain areas that you would want to focus your career on? Explain which areas are most appealing to you and which are least appealing.

After reading through the NICCS website and looking through the Competency Areas, it gave me an idea of certain areas I want to focus on. With me wanting to pursue a law enforcement career I want to focus on all possible working for a federal agency. I want to ensure I do all the proper research on all jobs within the law enforcement field to make sure I’m content in the future. An area that’s most appealing to me is the camaraderie within law enforcement. While I was in the military the bond we had with each other to get through our shifts or any negative situations was so valuable to me that it’s kept me to continue in law enforcement. However, the least appealing to me is the dangers that can come with law enforcement career. Being in this field it comes with uncertainties but learning to accept that is something I want to face in the future.
