Community Based Experience

I participated in two community-based experiences that allowed me to gain practical experience in public health practice and communication.

First, I volunteered as a health educator with Syrian refugees in Turkey. Many of these individuals had limited access to healthcare services and faced significant health disparities. As a health educator, I worked to develop and deliver educational programs on topics such as healthy eating, exercise, and disease prevention.Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in community engagement, program development and implementation, and cultural competency.

Second, I participated in a policy maker course entitled “Libya Leading the Way to Support the Political Transition.” This course focused on the development and implementation of policies in post-conflict settings. Through lectures, case studies, and group discussions, I gained an in-depth understanding of the political, economic, and social factors that influence policy-making. I also gained practical skills in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
