Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

Cybersecurity provides many opportunities for growth and success in this type of work. There’s always a consistent flow of knowledge within this career whether it’s picking up new skills or working with different types of technology. I’ve always enjoyed the concept of criminology as well as being fascinated by the rapid growth of technology. With that said there’s always a threat to new technology, such as cyber-attacks, data breaches, hackers, security threats and the list goes on.
Cybersecurity is highly important in this day and age because not only does it aid in our safety but allows crucial information to be kept secure. I enjoy how cybersecurity has many options for employment so you will never get bored, there are always different possibilities for gaining new abilities. It also provides an opportunity to be exposed to new people, situations, and expertise.
I also love to help people in any shape or form and cybersecurity gives me that privilege. From assisting individuals to helping out big companies, I will be consistently needed to ensure safety. Since many people use technology in their everyday life, such as tracking money, social media, work, education, etc. It’s always good to be mindful that any day someone can take that away from them. So that’s why I want my career to be able to help people so they can feel safe and secure with their private information.
I recently changed my major to cybersecurity because I was extremely intrigued by this career. Even though I don’t have much knowledge in the computer aspects, software, IT, etc. I hope to learn what cybersecurity is in detail and all the components of it so I can use this information to ensure I have a successful career path. I can’t wait to learn more about this subject to hopefully make a difference, even if it’s just one person.
