Computers have made the world safer by keeping things running while being in a global pandemic. For example, in March 2021 to stop the spread of COVID-19 a safer at home order was issued. The safer at home order forced everyone to turn to our computers to do our daily routines. By daily routines, I am referencing going to school, employment, and doctor’s appointments. Congress established the use of Zoom as the solution for keeping schools, government offices, health care systems functioning. Due to the pandemic, we were able to social distance properly by using our computer or smartphone for Amazon. Most people were able to rely on Amazon, Ebay. These websites help people to purchase essential items during this pandemic: toilet paper, masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and gloves. Computers have helped Doctors keep track of their patients progress via medical equipment. For example, patients that have sleep apnea. Doctors can track the patients sleep patterns over WIFI. The patients can view their sleep patterns via the sleep apnea application. Technology impairs our safety in relevance to tracking applications/websites. Third parties who sell your information to other company’s without clearly notifying users. Instagram causes some individuals to be insecure due to society standard of what beauty should be. The concept is the same as what happens is high school, the prettiest people get all the attention and, in some ways, they get catered too. With Instagram, the attention translates into subscriber and views. Instagram also add social pressures to lose weight, follow trends, and purchase popular items. Due to social pressures to gain followers certain sites such as YouTube allow content of dangerous stunts to obtain subscribers and views. You also have individual undergoing surgeries to have the perfect shape to attract popularity, ultimately causing them to lose their life.
