Mid-Semester Reflection

  1. When it comes to studying during this semester hasn’t been how I wanted it to be. I don’t really study for each class unless I have a test or quiz coming up. I probably would say I study about 45 minutes for those certain classes. My grades definitely reflect on how much I study and it definitely needs to get better because it’s disappointing to see myself like this. I definitely need to put more time into my classes especially statistics and sociology. Those are my two classes that I need to work on. I usually study in my room or downstairs in my house. I do get distracted from studying. My phone is definitely the main one, but also my mindset. My mindset right now is not where I want it to be. I usually study during the night and it’s become a bad habit. I would like to study more during the day because my sleep schedule isn’t okay.
  2. I haven’t tried any new study techniques just because I’m not as motivated as I want to be. Today I looked up some study techniques that I will definitely use because I feel like it would improve my mood and mindset. I still look over my notes, but I don’t think that is helping me out as much. I feel like studying or doing work for 45 minutes and taking a break for 15 minutes will help me or actually doing practice quizzes. For sociology I would definitely find practice quizzes to take and help me understand the material better.
  3. Now that I’m half way through the semester college is nothing what I thought it was going to be. It’s different from what I expected because I’m not on campus and all my classes are online. I don’t really get to socialize with people as much as I wanted. Nothing has really surprised me during this semester. I do think it’s crazy how I attended events virtually when I would expect it to be in person. My favorite thing about the campus is that there are so many resources and many places to study. My toughest challenge is to have the motivation to do work or just anything in general. I’m trying to work on that slowly but surely.
  4. Okay so I got a small cold like two weeks ago and my family was worried about me. So idk if this counts as a resource, but I went to go to the Student Health Services and I got tested for COIVD-19. It came back as negative, but they were really nice. I don’t really use the resources that much. I do have two friends who are very helpful and so sweet. When it comes to our chemistry lab we meet up before the lab and just go over what we have to do. I have not been to an interest meeting for any clubs or organizations because I’m not as organized as I wanted to be with my school work. I want to make sure that I can handle my school work before joining a club or organization.
