Artifact 3
I chose the subjective happiness scale from module 14 for my top artifact. I liked this activity because it made me reflect on my own happiness. It also made me think about how I perceive myself and the frequency that I feel certain emotions. I am not always happy or always unhappy, but instead it seems to depend on the things I am experiencing at that moment. I think this made it a little more challenging for me to answer these questions, especially when I was asked to compare myself to my peers.
It is hard to measure happiness in general. However, I think I spend a lot of my life feeling quite happy and content, and this activity helped me see that. This activity also expanded my knowledge on the factors that may influence whether one is experiencing a happy life or not. I chose this image because I feel like it is a good representation of my happiness and a source of it. One of my favorite things to do is participating in fun activities with the people I love.
Artifact 2
I chose module 10’s norm violation exercise. This activity was my top selection from the artifacts, because I felt like I learned a lot by having the option to observe others not following a social norm. From this activity, I was able to learn some reactions to people not following the mask mandates in the airport. I noticed the rules are a lot more strict in airports compared to other locations. Most people seemed to be wearing masks and that was the expected social norm, especially because we were influenced by our specific location.
In Virginia, everyone was wearing a mask except one person. Someone told him he needed to put one on before he would be allowed to board the plane, and he agreed to. However, when I landed in Houston a lot of people were taking them off as they were walking around the airport. Some people were told to put one on, but others were not noticed. This taught me that different places may differ some with what is considered normal, so there also may be different reactions to the same behavior.
I chose this representative visual image, because it captured me in the airport wearing my mask while observing others.
Artifact 1

This artifact helped me understand the topic of heuristics more easily. I saw many examples of changes in every day lives based off this topic and it was very eye-opening. It also made me think about some of the unrealistic fears I have in my own life. I think this brought together a better understanding of the whole module.
