Discussion Board: The “Short Arm” of Predictive Knowledge (Module 7, Reading 1)

In the Jonas Reading, the approach of cyber-policy and infrastructure could be based on the “short arm” of predictive knowledge. The short arm predictions were used to predict the future of man based upon the behavior that someone has done in the context of the historical texts. Since, cyber-policy and infrastructure are advancing everyday it can not be known to the fullest extent what will happen in the future of these policies and infrastructures. The reading supports this because Jonas stated that the representative government only cares to represent matters that are current, rather than ones that could come up in the future. Predictions are not things that certainly happen, so it is important to have a “plan b”, so that if anything goes wrong then the issue can quickly be resolved.
