Describe four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals.

When storing another person’s information it is a priority to keep it confidential between that business/person. Nowadays hackers, breachers, and thieves are trying to find a way to steal or take someone’s information, money or even life. Ethically that is wrong, the four ethical issues that arise are Security breaches, system implementation, data inaccuracies, and privacy and confidentiality. Security breaches risk the privacy of someone’s information being available without authorization to getting the information. Software like firewalls are often implemented so they can protect data integrity. Other ways you can increase the security of your information is by keeping up with updates, adjusting the browser, password to protect the software, and encrypting data. System implementation often has good results protecting data but sometimes there are errors such as confidence of customers, safety issues, and frustrated providers. Data inaccuracies allow someone to see if the data is accurate or inaccurate. There are many times where someone should double-check their entries so they don’t mess up someone’s information and leave the chance of error. Most of the time lost data happens when the data is being transferred from a mobile device, computer, and laptop to one another. If someone were to inaccurately input information they could be charged falsely get issued a bill, this would cause havoc for someone who doesn’t have the money and simply can’t afford it. Lastly, privacy and confidentiality are defined by having the option and legal right to not be messed, tampered, or even bothered with if someone doesn’t want to. Anyone’s information is their privacy and has the right to decline or accept the output of their information. There have been multiple lawsuits for this in the past. Someone must be up to date with the laws and rules use of technology.
