LeADERS Program

The LeADERS program taught me so much and has allowed me to gain real-world skills that I can utilize both in the field of Human Services and in day-to-day life. Through the program, I have learned a lot about fundraising, public speaking, financial budgeting, mentoring, and so much more. I hope the throughout this portfolio you will get to see how the LeADERS courses have affected my personal growth and also my professional growth through the program.

Academic Field

I believe that the knowledge I gained from the Entrepreneurship course will help me, in particular, have connected me the most with my academic field because I will utilize the skills that I have learned from that class in my non-profit I am creating. On almost an everyday basis I create SMART goals and also needs assessments that I need when I create fundraising projects and also how I’ve learned to recruit and manage volunteers are the same skills I have learned throughout my academic internship and also my leadership experience. Throughout both my academic tenure here at old dominion university and in the outside field I feel that I am required to connect what I’ve learned from LeADERS.

Application of Skills
