I believe before I got to ODU and attend the human services program I was at the Cultural Blindness stage, this is because I would always treat people the same and would look outside of their culture and treat them as I would anyone else. This could be determined as good and bad but as time went on I went on to serve in the military with those of different creeds and nationalities and that is where I progressed to the pre-competence stage and I understood a little about how other people live and how you should respect the culture in which they are coming from.
