Mission Statement: I want to serve the people in the field of public health and infectious disease prevention.
Top three areas of public health interest: Epidemiology, Toxicology, Environmental Health
Epidemiology is so fascinating because it is like being a detective in a case where the suspect is a pathogen. This field combines investigative research and statistics to improve a population’s health outcomes.
Toxicology is interesting because the dose makes the poison. In addition, the way substances are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated from the body is eye-opening.
Environmental health is important to me because of the one health model. The earth, plants and animals, microorganisms, and humans are all interconnected and influence each other’s health and well-being.
I plan to contribute to the field of public health by utilizing my skills and experience to serve the public and to always be a student of public health.
