Journal summary 2
I feel like the editing skills check list is a useful tool to map our progress throughout UNIV150. With the editing skills checklist I can see my progressing throughout the course with each essay that I am writing. Because I am one of those people who like to see how they are doing, how they are improving themselves, and where they need improvement at this check list is the perfect way to see where you have difficulties at when it comes to writing. Personally, this assignment has helped me to see that I need to pay close attention to my punctuation when it comes to writing. Though punctuation may seem like a small issue it also helped me to realize that I need to take my time and read my work before I submitted it. Although my punctuation mistakes are simple mistakes like not adding a period at the end of a sentence or not putting the quotations marks in the right stop, the editing skills checklist help me to understand my mistake and fix it. Another thing that I noticed about my writing when doing the checklist is that I have a problem with shifts in time while writing. Because one of the requirements to this assignment is to locate and find help for your common problems, doing so Purdue Owl helped me to understand shifts in time a little bit better. The only thing that I think should be changed about this assignment is that for each time we do it we should leave the help examples there. Since this assignment is to help us with our common issues while writing, I personally think that leaving the examples form each essay up there will help to understand a little bit better and we can look back on it when we need help.
