The video really showed me just how big the advertisement industry is. I was surprised to see how many years are wasted in our lifetime from just watching commercials. They are a big part of our lives, and it may go unnoticed. I have always noticed how ads objectify women and use sexuality to sell products. I noticed how they abuse that image, when they use it for products that are irrelevant. They use it as a way to get the attention of certain viewers, and its wrong. It gives viewers the wrong idea, and is a bad image for little girls watching. They shouldn’t grow up to see women being portrayed as an object on TV and billboards. The norm of society is not whats being displayed.

These advertisements show how all types of products can be sold by advertising women being objectified. Samsung gives a wrong message saying that “true beauty is curved.” Beauty in the media should shown from what’s inside a person, not the outside. Alexander Wang doesn’t need a fully naked girl, that’s not even wearing the denim, to sell their clothing. The bottom two ads show sexuality. American Apparel expresses a unnecessary sexual gesture to sell clothing. Aston Martin compared their pre-owned vehicles to women who have been with other men. The use of the ads like these is very disrespectful towards women. I wouldn’t wan’t to raise a daughter in a society that shows her she is just an object. Women should be empowered in advertisements not objectified.
