My Journey In Comm 462

Going into Comm 462 I knew we were talking about sports, but it was so much more. I was totally taken out of my comfort zone and was shown a whole new side of sports with our assignments. With the pen pal assignment, I had to reach out and cold call someone. Now that I have done this once it will make it easier for the next time, I need to do it. Having to work with social media in this class pushed me to put myself out there more. I had to create a persona and not keep it quiet but show people my true feelings about the team that I follow and like. As someone who is reserved and likes to keep to myself wanting to join a sports organization, I need to be willing to put myself out there more. This is an aspect of sports I didn’t expect. Along with this I realized I am not a social media manager or an in front of the camera type of person. Knowing where I fit in and what job suits me is good to know now before I graduate. Knowing that being a sports management major is right for me, I have also known I am best suited behind the scenes to making things run properly. I now know I can work in more of the social aspect of the job but knowing where I fit in will help me in the future. Learning what my strengths and weaknesses will help me as I move forward, and this class played a big part in that. I had my struggles and they made me stronger, and it will help me as I start my career.
