Being A Rational Bears Fan

I can remember having soccer tournaments every weekend and traveling a lot, but my dad always had the radio on 670 listening to the bears game on Sundays. He was the one that really got me into the bears and to this day I love and hate that. The bears as everyone knows is a storied franchise but a troubled one. You have the fans that are still living in 1985 or the ones who cling year to year like myself. Sadly, I was born 3 years after that championship where we still grumble that Walter Peyton didn’t get to score a touchdown. Looking how my fandom has gone from watching every Sunday on fox to moving across the country and having to pay for Sunday ticket to see my favorite team every Sunday. I always had hats but now I finally got my bears shirts and gear that I wear every Sunday.

It takes a lot to be a bear’s fan and it has its ups and downs, well mostly downs. The hoping that we have the great next quarterback, or this will be the year we take back the north from the packers. On social media you have the crazy fans who curse the team in the first quarter and then by the third quarter they are the teams #1 fan. I tend to be the more rational one and see that it is what it is. I tell people they need to chill and really should relax. I feel as a true fan they should stay by the team no matter what, but some can go too far and its kind of funny to me. I love the bears and I will defend them and be critical of them, but saying people need to be fired or that someone is a bust after 5 games is just insane to me. I love sports but going over the top is crazy. The crazier thing is being a rational sports fan of the Chicago bears, I feel I am one of the few who is one and it won’t change anytime soon. I still hate having to pick the packers for anything, even if I must for a class competition.
