About Me

My name is Antoine Smith, and I am currently in my first year as a Cybersecurity major at Old Dominion University. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, my hope is to build a career that involves the protection of computer systems, the solution of complex problems, and the advancement of technology to create a safer world for the masses. The areas of cybersecurity, psychology, economics, and political science are of special interest to me because I believe that understanding the ways in which the world works is just as important as understanding the ways in which technology works.

In addition to my academic activities, I try my best to stay active, engaged, and committed to my personal growth. As a member of the ODU Run Club, I have been able to push my physical limits, stay motivated, and get to know other students on campus. Another one of my passions is spending as much time as possible at the gym, as it allows me to stay disciplined, stay focused, and live a balanced lifestyle. Outside of the classroom, my favorite way to unwind is by playing video games, as it is what initially got me interested in technology and continues to keep me interested in the ways in which technology operates.

I believe that communication is key in the world of cybersecurity, as it allows individuals to communicate technical ideas in a way that is easily understood by others. As a result, this ePortfolio is a representation of my journey through CYSE 201S and my overall growth as a cybersecurity student.
