Week 12 #14: Andriy Links Slynchuk has described eleven things Internet users do that may be illegal. Review what the author says and write a paragraph describing the five most serious violations and why you think those offenses are serious.

Out of the eleven actions that Slynchuk covered that may be illegal, the five most serious violations in my opinion are using unofficial streaming services, sharing copyrighted photos, bullying and trolling, using the internet of others, and faking your identity online. The internet is a vast place, and people can use it to their advantage by looking for movies, shows, music, and more to stream for free rather than paying for a streaming service. Unfortunately, this can result in getting sued for a copyright violation. Similarly, using copyrighted images without permission or attribution is a crime. Many people may pull images from a Google search to use in presentations, graphics, and more without knowing. It’s that easy. Bullying and trolling is also a serious action that can escalate very quickly into legal matters, but even more into mental health issues. It can also be very easy for people without cellular data to just connect to any available WiFi nearby, but this can be considered stealing. Faking your identity online is also a serious matter. It can be easy to type in an extra few years as a kid in order to download some games on their phone to play, unknowing that it is a crime. Despite how simple it is, it counts as identity fraud.
