In this section are the required assignments for NURS 403 ePortfolio submissions.
Required Assignments
- Philosophy of Nursing Paper: This is the philosophy paper written in Nurs 401.
- Educational Goals:
- Educational Goals-Past: The Educational Goals were written in Nurs 401 as part of the paper called “Developing Educational and Professional Goals Paper”
- Educational Goals-Present: Consider your current goals. Discuss how they have changed or been reaffirmed through your BSN program.
- The Practice Summary Paper: This assignment is completed during this course, Nurs 403.
- A position paper on a health issue or a written project that includes inquiry: This could be a paper or a discussion activity. The assignment could be found in Nurs306, Nurs490, or Nurs492. This is any paper or letter where you took a stance in support or against a specific health care issue.
- Documentation of an oral presentation or oral project: Include your slideshow and any pictures of the teaching experience you may have. The assignment could be the Teaching Project in 402 or any other oral presentation that you feel represents your ability to verbally communicate.
- Professional focused Resume: The resume should be the same as you would give a potential employer.
- Best written/oral/individual/or group projects as appropriate to demonstrate achievement of all end of program behaviors: Approximately 4-6 additional entries of your choice should be selected and may include assignments from upper division nursing and non-nursing courses. One entry should have been completed during the last semester of this year.
Additional Elements
8. The additional elements for the Portfolio may include any of the following:
- Letters of professional reference or appreciation from previous or current employers, etc., as appropriate – not included
- Community Service Activities while enrolled in the nursing program
- Photographs of any student activity while enrolled in the program
- Special awards, recognition, or honor societies such as Sigma Theta Tau
- Projects from your place of employment completed while enrolled in the program that highlight your career direction – not included
- College transcripts-optional – not included
