Journal #4:  Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.

With cyber-attacks in the United States being increasingly frequent, it’s a must that we must know what types of attacks we will be facing. The world with emphasis on the United States being tech driven it is becoming easier to gain unauthorized access to many things. Much of our jobs are ditching paper and are moving everything to a digital aspect, with this it is easier to access valuable information in a large quantity which can be used to exploit an individual or an organization as a whole. Most common risk are through Phishing, ransomware, and data breaches. Phishing is a huge one because many Americans connect through email, and reading through emails you might accidentally click or maybe curious because someone is posing as your bank asking you to sign in and answer security questions. Ransomware is very common because most foreigners believe that all Americans are wealthy or rich, and in this case demand money in large amounts. Most times this request is coming from a country that is most likely off the grid and is looking for vengeance against the U.S and its critical infrastructures. Data breaches are more so the U.S releasing or sharing classified or valuable information that could be used against us, most likely it could b e someone new on the job or someone looking to sell information. The United States currently ranks number 4 in the world as of 15JAN24. Afghanistan is a very vulnerable country to cyber risk as the government has been plagued with poverty which hinders its growth in much needed areas. Afghanis have a very low digital literacy with that being said they are susceptible to Phishing, malware, and denial of service attacks. They have very limited resources with technology, so they are an unable to educate themselves oh the cyber-war that will happen sooner than later.
