Compared to other countries the United States is a very huge target for attacks on businesses and infrastructure. With the world and technology advancing more and more every day many businesses in the United States are online . Along with technology advancing, hackers are learning new things everyday which causes the security risks to rise even more. Over half of the attacks within the United States are phishing attacks , these attacks keep a constant battle to keep up with all of the new methods. Mostly all systems are online now due to covid , with that it requires more remote access .Most of these systems are not put together / built correctly which plays a main role with the increasing numbers of attacks . Although many feel as most of these attacks originated from other countries that is false. Most of the United States attacks originated within the states .Due to my comparison many other countries are experiencing the same attacks . Compared to other countries, the United States is not prepared for all of the technical advances, which is not very good. These cyber attacks can lead to blackouts, breaches as we talked about previously and lastly military equipment failure. Other countries are much more advanced , they have systems and protocols in place to protect themselves and to defend cyber criminals. This problem will become so much bigger if the United States does not catch up soon . The United Kingdom has the most popular defense program from my research . Their program is “ The Active Cyber Defense Program” . They created this program in order to safeguard federal, state, and local government institutions; this program was developed to defend cyber activities. There are threats and attacks against both the United States and the United Kingdom. If the correct protocols aren’t followed or countermeasures aren’t developed, this could escalate into something more serious.
