I am pursuing a degree in nursing. I chose nursing because taking care of others would give me a new purpose in life. In addition, I have been influenced by many of my relatives, as many of them are nurses, to become part of the medical field. I do not necessarily have experience in a hospital, but I have taken courses pertaining to the medical field. At the Virginia Beach Technical Career and Education Center, I took Medical Systems Administrations and Practical Nursing. During the practical nursing course, I was able to learn about the actions nurses need to be able to do and the skills nurses need to have. Also, it was mesmerizing learning about how the human body works. Getting into the nursing program at ODU would broaden my knowledge!
