Assignment Takeaway

ATA 5

The last assignment we were asked to go around and do good deeds for people that we didn’t even know. I really enjoyed doing this because I love making people smile and it is always good for people because you never really know what a person is going through. This assignment reminds me of when I was in middle school because I always used to write very cute notes to my friends to make them smile. Even in some of my English classes that I have taken over the time of being in school, we were asked to do nice notes but the person did not know that they were getting one from us until they received it. I personally think activities like these are great for college and even younger kids because it is a great way to make a person smile without them actually knowing who it is coming from. 

In the photo below, you can see that this is kids passing a note in class and I used this as my picture because this is exactly how I would pass my notes in class that I wrote as well.  

ATA 4

The last assignment we worked on was discussing our results from the love scale. I really enjoy taking the surveys and looking back at my results because I can see the type of person I am based off of the results I get back. I also mentioned this before but I really really enjoy opinionated assignments more than anything else. This is not the first assignment we have had to base our results on a survey so what I have learned from these kinds of assignments is that you just have to be completely honest with yourself and the questions you are being asked. I am currently taking health psychology and we had to take a love scale survey as well but it was not the same survey and I was asked different questions but it was still the same concept. This assignment was relevant to me personally because I absolutely love talking about love so I was very excited to fill the survey out and just get my results after discussing the kind of person I am. 

I chose this photo because there are kids taking a survey and that is basically what we were asked to do.

ATA 3

Our last assignment we had to watch a YouTube video of a white entertainer that was making racial slurs on tv. For this assignment we were asked to write a paper about it if we thought he was racist, if we thought he said those hurtful words out of anger and if we think a person racists if they make racial comments. I actually enjoyed doing this assignment because speaking from a black women I can relate more to things like this. I also enjoyed this because we actually got to speak our minds instead of being something we can not really express ourselves about. Overall, I feel like this was a great assignment for students to really talk about how they feel about a uncomfortable topic.

ATA 2

Our last assignment was focusing on how music plays a part in our friendships and relationships. I personally enjoyed this assignment a lot because I love music and all my emotions or pain I am feeling can be let out just from this. I always knew the impact that music had on our society, especially nowadays but after completing this assignment, I really started to see how music can play a major role in the relationships you build with those you love and care for. I went through a very horrible depression about 2 years ago and I definitely had family and friends by my side but I would say music really helped me heal the way I did. Music is like your own personal outlet and sometimes the lyrics involved can just explain everything you are feeling at that moment in your life.

ATA 1

From all of my previous assignments so far, I have learned that social psychology is more of a course that involves things such as the behaviors of how other people act rather than you personally. This is more of a way for you to try to understand other people better rather than just yourself. For example, I took child psychology last semester and that class was dealing more with how to react to certain things that children are doing. So it was focused more on how to address what children tend to do from time to time. The last assignment focused more on the different heuristics we have covered so far so I learned more information from that definitely. The last assignment also relates back to my child psychology class because we were asked to memorize and explain certain definitions like we did for our first assignment.

My reasoning for using this specific picture is because this shows all of the different heuristics that we had to use in the following assignment we just did. This picture also explains what each of these terms mean in a short way of fully explaining it.
