Lesson Title: Alto or Mezzo?
Objectives:
- To identify the difference between the types of Mezzo – Sopranos
- Be able to identify by ear the difference of an alto and a contralto
- Apply proper vocal techniques to warm-ups for altos and mezzo sopranos
- Identify the range difference between lower female voice parts

- Vocal warm-ups
- Prezi presentation
- Video demonstration/examples
Objective/Purpose:
- Students should be able to tell the difference between the types of lower women ranges
- Students should be able to understand the physical ability of the different mezzo sopranos
- Students should be able to apply this knowledge to correctly warm up a lower woman range
- Students should be able to identify the different ranges
Input:
- Students need you to know and be able identify octaves
- Students must have a knowledge of voice parts
- Must be able to understand between higher registers and low
Model (If you will be demonstrating the skill or competence, how will this be done?):
- Skills that we are demonstrating will be the ability to warm up a lower female voice accurately for all categories.
- By applying correct breathing techniques, and body form
- Teaching a common yawn-sign, 1-5-1, and 1-5-9-1 different vowels and speeds going down and up
