Artifact 5
The last archive that I thought was interesting was the Module 4 archive. This archive allowed me to compare cross cultural values of the United States and another country that I would like to visit which is Italy. I enjoyed looking at comparisons between the country I live in and another country because it showed me some major differences in how different cultures operate and what some cultures find more important than others. I realized that America thrives in individualism more than many other countries. I also realized that Americans tend to indulge in more because we have access to a lot more than other countries as well.
I chose this visual image because it represents America’s ranking across different dimensions.
Artifact 4
The fourth archive that I enjoyed completing was the Module 3 archive. I enjoyed the Module 3 archive because I was able to discuss African/African-American tradition. I decided to discuss the style of braiding and where it originated as well as how it has formulated itself within the African American community. I loved exploring the style of braiding because I am African American and it is a huge part of my own culture. It was interesting to talk about how braiding has been passed down from generations and how other people have introduced the style to their cultures.

I chose this visual representation of my aunts braids because it shows the intricate style of braids mentioned in my archive description.
Artifact 3
The third archive that I enjoyed completing was the Module 8 archive on personality. I liked this archive it forced me to recall a situation that I did not think matched my true personality. In this situation, I was not nice to the person I was engaging with and it did not represent my true character. I made a WordItOut to define how I acted in that situation. I did not feel good about the situation because I hurt someone that I cared about because I did not think about my words before I wrote them. This archive made me think deeper about how mean I can get when someone does not agree with my perspective and how that may come off to others.
I chose this visual image because the words that are listed describe how I came off to someone else in a situation where I did not show my true personality.
Artifact 2
My next favorite archive to complete was the Module 5 archive on eculteration. I enjoyed completing this archive because I was able to distinguish between my personal views and my parents views. I was able to think about how my values were shaped by my parents’ and my upbringing which is what made me who I am today. My parents and I have many of the same views and values so it was interesting to acknowledge that visually. I was able to explain how my interactions with my parents growing up influenced how I think about present situations.

I chose this visual image because it depicts my mom and I together and she is the person who has had the most influence on my personal values.
Artifact 1
Module 6 archive was my favorite archive to complete because I was able to illustrate and explain how independent my mother was while my step-father was away in the army. I enjoyed talking about my mother in a positive light because I am close to her and she is my rock. I was able to describe how she never gave up on her dreams and how she worked, took care of me and took care of the house by herself. She instilled motivation and independence in me and showed me that I do not have to depend on someone else to take care of myself or my responsibilities. She taught me to be strong and this archive allowed me to remember those lessons.
I chose this visual image because it features a quote that represents what I gained from my mother and what I thought about while completing the module 6 archive.
