Learning DNA transcription made me look into the ways computer science can be of use to biology. One such way was gene expression profiling. Gene expression profiling techniques, such as microarrays and RNA sequencing, generate large amounts of data related to transcriptional activity in cells or tissues. Computer science brings techniques such as data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis, to analyze gene expression data, identify differentially expressed genes, and infer biological processes or pathways. These analyses rely on understanding the transcription process to interpret gene expression patterns accurately.
