Meta-Analysis #4

Two of my favorite weekly tv shows to watch is WWE’s Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. From the early 2010’s up until 2023 there was a tag team of twin brothers that go by the name of the “Uso’s”. In the wrestling fan community there is a thing called “fantasy booking” where fans try to plan out storylines they would like to see the company perform in real life. One of those fantasy bookings that was taken by storm was the Uso’s splitting apart and being put against each other later down the line. On August 10th, 2023, a YouTube creator by the name of “Lunatic Phenomenal Editions” created a match card (a picture showing which wrestlers are going to fight each other) of Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso. The relationship between creator and artifact seems to be one of a collective mind, as mentioned earlier about the wrestling fanbase. I would have to assume that to spend ones time creating a fan fiction match card would have to mean that the person is maybe more than an average fan. This artifact speaks with new media technology in the aspect that it can be viewed by multiple people ranging from all across the world, there is a communication forum in the form of the comment section. Meaning that the creator can interact with their viewers. This artifact shows me that I think along the lines of other wrestling fans, being that this many people have “booked” the brothers to go against each other in a match. However since wrestling is a weekly story telling show along with action, some things can be foreshadowed just by using context clues. This is why I think many people thought this match would happen because we can sort of see the direction things will go just from keeping up with the show. I am not super likely to make something like this myself, I tend to just keep my thoughts in my head or maybe discuss them with other people online in a comment section.

Meta-Analysis #5

The last piece of content I “spread” was a tik Tok by the creator “FargoCaptions”. The video itself is a meme that makes a joke about the rapper and artist Meek Mill. I shared this piece of content because I found it funny and appealing to those that I shared it with. Most of the tik toks I share are for the same reason as this one. My girlfriend, friends and cousins tend to get on tik Tok to have an enjoyable time and make each other laugh; this was no different so I feel as if it was on brand for me to share this with the people I sent it to. I believe the content to be “spreadable” as well as others. As of the time of typing this up, the video has twenty-seven thousand shares. I am not sure if the content was or is monetized, I would have to believe due to tik tok’s policy on videos becoming monetized after a certain number of views that this video could be generating money. I think me sharing this content could have given the creator hope and inspiration to keep creating content as seeing the twenty-seven thousand shares most likely gave them confidence to keep putting themselves out there. As well as the fact that if not already, the video could potentially start making financial gain for the creator. The recipients have not responded to the videos yet however, being that out senses of humor are pretty similar, I am sure that they will respond with some kind of laugh. Yes, people have engaged with the videos. As previously stated the video has twenty-seven thousand shares, fourteen thousand favorites, three thousand two hundred-ninety-seven comments and, one hundred fifty-four thousand comments. All with in the span of three days.
