The major I plan on pursuing in is nursing; I chose nursing because I have always had an interest in helping people within the medical field. My mother is in the medical field for the military and I always enjoyed going to see her at work. She never worked one on one with patients like a nurse or a doctor, but she worked behind the scenes with paperwork and medical records. My junior year of high school, I got to shadow a sports medicine surgeon and watch him do different types of surgery.  Another classmate and I were able to scrub in, meet other surgeons, and talk to nurses about their experience within the hospital. I enjoy helping others and hope do to do with nursing.
