Final Reflection

Throughout my semester in Cell Biology with Dr. Christina Steel, I learned a number of different processes, functions, and aspects of cells. One thing that particularly interested me was the topic of transcription and transduction. I know these processes will be vital to continuing my education until I have my degree in biology as well as in my pursuit of a medical field career. Transcription is the process of converting DNA into RNA and it is vital to gene expression. Translation on the other hand is when the RNA is converted into a protein that can have a number of different functions. Understanding what proteins are being made in the ribosomes of the cell is important to understanding the proteins that are made from the RNA strand. This course is vital to understanding the functions of cells and gaining a plethora of information regarding what happens in your body at a cellular level. While I may not receive the grade I want in the course overall I learned information that is needed to continue my learning. Dr. Steel is an enthusiastic professor that will make learning the various topics of Cell Biology fun and interesting.
