Each country has multiple and different types of risks that can affect anyone within the country to be a victim of cybercrime. According to the article “Know the Risk: the best and worst countries for Cybersecurity” written by Broadbandsearch.net in 2023 the United States is considered as number one for the most cyber secure country in the world. Based on their research only about 2.89 percent of mobile devices were hacked and infected with malware and their least cyber secure country is Algeria and according to broadband search the percentage of phones that were infected with malware in the country was about 21.97 percent. Smaller countries like Tanzania, Tajikistan, Iran and Algeria are more likely to be attacked by hackers since the countries do not take the time to put any efforts towards cyber security and are not trying to make any changes to help people in their countries avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime. In the United States there are companies based around cybersecurity to help with the efforts to help either slow down or stop cybersecurity crimes. In the United States a lot of attackers use phishing attacks to target people to get them to expose their personal information by sending fake links and the user clicking on them and taking them to a fake page that looks real then their phone being hacked with the hacker installing malware and exposing data. Using those fake messages can lead people to falling victim of getting their credit card information stolen or bank information if they were to login. The risks of these types of attacks are talked about more within the United States than other countries that do not defend well to cybersecurity crimes and that can be a big risk to the citizens that live within that country that is not helping.
