Four ODU majors I chose from that relate to cyber security are Computer engineering, Computer science, information technology, and computer programming.  Computer engineering relates to cyber security with both being within the technology field. Engineers just like people in cyber security both have jobs that involve protecting sensitive data against hackers and other security threats. Cyber security workers can move into the network engineering field, it can be an easier move since they are handling threats so they can maintain the stability and performance of their networks. Engineers can help with building future transportation; they can help with building cars like a Tesla that everything they use on the inside of a Tesla can be attacked at any time by a security threat. Computer science is another field that can be related to cyber security. Computer science students are studying computers and in cyber security it’s a umbrella under computer science where you learn how to protect your network and programs from attackers and security threats. For someone with a cyber security job they would need to rely a lot on the computers to apply the skills they have learned.  Information technology relates in the fact that cyber security is a field within information technology it is protecting computers and the network systems. Computer programming relates with coding and securities. Cyber security workers can use what they learn in programming by reading coding to find harmful codes, they can check security patches and find vulnerabilities within the network. Computer programming may be more essential than the other since programming is a way to detect a lot of security failures. All four majors relate to cyber security that user will or possibly need to use every day at their current jobs or future jobs. There are lots of umbrellas under cyber security and the same for cyber security being under the major umbrella of information technology.
