Professional Experience

During my time at Old Dominion University (ODU), I have been working full-time as a cybersecurity analyst at QinetiQ. Balancing work and academic responsibilities has been challenging, but it has taught me invaluable skills in time management, adaptability, and prioritization. At QinetiQ, I initially supported the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) government contract with responsibilities like vulnerability scans, compliance reporting, and leading briefings for government clients. Recently, I transitioned to focus on corporate network security, overseeing policies and managing incident response efforts aligned with the NIST 800-171 framework. This dual role has allowed me to grow in both technical expertise and leadership, skills that have greatly enriched my academic journey. My Employment Experience paper will further detail how this hands-on experience has shaped my professional skills and prepared me for future opportunities in cybersecurity.
