Welcome! My name is Ava McLaughlin and I am a Cybersecurity student and general enthusiast who loves a challenge. As a sophomore at Old Dominion University, I understand the meaning of hard work and recognize that learning is a life-long experience. This being said, my efforts in this field have earned recognition through several awards, and I am highly confident in my skills. I practice malware detection, threat analysis, and strategy development.
Beginnings
I had access to technology and the internet from a very young age, which became a love for computers and problem-solving. Unfortunately, as a child, I was also very prone to internet scams and viruses. I later realized that threats like these are not always easy to recognize, even as an adult. Since then, I have dedicated my time to understanding how these systems work, preventing attacks before they occur, and helping victims recover from them.
Goals
Upon graduation, my goal is to secure a position in cybersecurity that uses my foundational technical skills to help organizations prevent, detect, and respond to digital threats, preferably focused on ethical hacking or similar offensive security roles. Regardless of where my career in this field leads, my goal is to help others. Aside from programming and network analysis, I value human connections. This is why my work is client- and team-centered, ensuring the best outcomes for all involved. View security strategies and practices on this website, contact me for any Cybersecurity questions, or even collaborate with me on a project! I offer many services and would be happy to discuss them further, so do not hesitate to reach out.
