This comparison of a fiction and non-fiction book about abolition is directed at 6th grade learners. The teachers’ guide begins with drawing the students in with an imaginary scenario of packing quickly with little notice. Learners are asked to create a timeline on paper or a bulletin board. Book-based and comparative questions are included for small group conversation, as well as other related book recommendations.
