My interest is sparked by positions in cybersecurity that integrate leadership, education,
and strategic thinking, according to the NICE Workforce Framework. The fact that jobs like
curriculum development, executive cybersecurity leadership, and cybersecurity policy and
planning includes developing organizational strategies, influencing laws, and training people in a
rapidly changing industry makes them unique. It is very tempting to have the chance to direct
cybersecurity initiatives and teach people how to protect themselves from online dangers.
However, I’m not as interested in more specialist positions like Technology Program Auditing
and Communications Security (COMSEC) Management. Even though they are important, these
roles are mostly focused on compliance checks or certain technical areas, which might not
provide the same degree of strategic participation or wider influence that I find inspiring.
Positions where I can directly impact the organization’s overall cybersecurity posture and make a
larger contribution to the greater picture appeal to me more.
