Throughout my time in University 150, I have been on a difficulty roller-coaster. I passed the first essay, failed the second one, and was a little bit more successful on the third. The forth one felt the easiest to write but I’m still waiting for it to be graded. Every essay was slightly different. The first essay was very basic. The requirements were not too challenging, and the prompt was straight forward. Though I had not learned much, because it was the beginning, I focused on the warnings my teacher gave.  Another reason why I was successful is because my classes were moving much slower at that time. Essay number two discussed information from the book our class read. One thing that this essay taught me was the importance of multiple drafts in the writing process.  Tackling essay three was much more difficult for me. Essay three was more like an acute research paper. The document was not really long so I did not have much information to go by. Along with there being a lack of information, it was typed as a personal blog. I feel like personal blogs are not formulated enough to substantially answer the prompt. The fourth essay felt the easiest. Prior to this essay I did not understand how to take advantage of the revision process to clarify and perfect my ideas

I feel that the College Writing course benefited my ability as a writer. It dramatically increased my confidence while writing essays. The four essays that I wrote for this class really challenged me. Going through high school I feel like writing was very rudimentary and did not require much to complete. It was not until college that I learned I struggle with comma splices. The main correction marked on all four essays were comma splices. From essay one to essay four the amount of comma splices decreased.  Without my professor, I would have been the same novice writer I was at the beginning. The feedback I received from my professor was beneficial because she guided me in the right direction and also commented when something was too vague or irrelevant. Her comments were usually questions that were left unanswered as she read my over work. After many years of bad writing I have learned to accept criticism and use it in bettering my writing. – I believe that with the skills I have obtained during this course and with the changes I have made that I have improved immensely as a writer. – In conclusion, I had a very positive experience with this class. This course really aided my understanding of certain aspects of writing I had never understood before.
