As this class draws to an end and I reflect back on everything I’ve taken away from the course, I would have to say the one thing that has resonated with me the most is the importance of asking questions. Understanding at a cellular level why things perform the way that they do, and how the slightest change can have a rather large impact. Asking the tough questions when you don’t understand or simply digging deeper because it peaks your interest. This new learning behavior would be a transferable skill in my field of study because those in the medical field are forever students and forever learning new things. Whether it be a new technique for performing a medical procedure or discovering new information on marine yeasts and their cell cycles, without questions there would be no answers and no progression.
