It\u2019s mainly because I have just been completing my assignments and turning them in on time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size:14px\">What classes did you identify as needing assistance in?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f78da800;font-size:14px\"><strong>Even though I am doing well in my classes, I could use some extra help in biology.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-small-font-size\">\n<li style=\"font-size:14px\">What changes have you made (i.e. amount of time, location, campus resources, study strategies, etc\u2026)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\"><strong>I\u2019ve started to go to the exam review sessions provided by my biology TA\u2019s. I have also changed the way I take notes in biology. I used to type everything that was presented in a slideshow presentation. Now I download to lecture slides before class, and jot down notes as my professor goes through the slides.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-layout-14 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color\"><strong>Transition to College<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-white-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"font-size:14px\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#f78da800\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#f78da808\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-white-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<ul>\n<li>What expectations did you have coming to college?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I expected my classes to be harder than they are. I also thought that I wouldn&#8217;t have time to do anything but my work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have those expectations come to fruition, or not?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My college expectations were really negative so it\u2019s really nice that they were proven wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In what way is your college experience different from what you expected?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My classes are easier than I thought they would be. I have time to go out with friends too.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What has surprised you about your experiences so far this semester?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How nice everyone is, including professors and advisors.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>If you live on campus:<\/em> What has been your toughest challenge with moving away to college? Easiest challenge to overcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The toughest challenge I have faced is being away from home. The easiest is sharing my space with my roommate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color\"><strong>Major<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Name something you have learned about your intended major that you did not know at the beginning of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I learned that my major isn&#8217;t as competitive as I thought it would be, especially compared to other majors like nursing.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have your feelings changed about your intended major? List some thoughts you are having.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My feelings about my intended major have not changed. I\u2019m actually surer than ever that I want to continue with this major.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Is there another subject (major or minor) that you are interested in learning more about?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I have been looking into minoring in a language. I was thinking of doing Spanish as my minor.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color\"><strong>Connecting to Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Name one problem or challenge you have encountered this semester, and which resource(s) at ODU you have\/can utilize to assist with this situation.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;I have not encountered a problem so far this semester, and I hope it stays the same way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Is there a friend, roommate, professor, advisor, or group in the ODU community who has helped you so far this semester? If so, how did they help you?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There is a friend that has helped me. We\u2019re in some of the same classes and we have the same intended major. She has helped me by being my friend. It&#8217;s because of her that I don\u2019t stay in my dorm all the time.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have you attended an interest meeting for a club? Why did you decide to get involved or not get involved?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;I joined the club softball team.
