Social cybersecurity is a developing area of national security that will have strategic ramifications for all future levels of conflict, both conventional and unconventional. Social cybersecurity, is an emerging field of study that aims to characterize, understand, and forecast cyber-mediated changes in human behavior, social, cultural, and political outcomes, and to build the cyber-infrastructure needed for society to persist in its fundamental character in a cyber-mediated information environment under changing conditions, actual, or impending social cyber-threats. The battlefield is evolving at all levels of war as a result of technology, which allows both state and nonstate actors to affect the global marketplace of beliefs and ideas at the pace of algorithms.
