Assignment Takeaway

For the four assignments that you choose to complete throughout the semester, you will reflect on your takeaway from each. Do not copy and paste your assignments. Think of this space as a brief way to communicate how the assignment engaged you, how it was personally relevant, and reflect on how you learned more about yourself after completion. Each assignment recap will need to contain an illustrative picture. Examples will be provided.

ASSIGNMENT TAKEAWAY 4

I have learned a lot from these chapters. Thus far, I was able to find a connection with module 7. My favorite part of Module 7 was a survey to test your cognitive dissonance. This was a way to show if your values/beliefs truly line up with your actions. This test can help get a more realistic perspective on your stances. I think testing your cognitive dissonance can dissolve differences between people in society. This test and theory is beneficial for topics that range from mild to controversial. As a teacher in training, I have found that this concept is able to help create positive communications in the classroom. When you’re a teacher, you are constantly surrounded by people who may feel differently about things than you, which is their right to do! My Takeaway for this section has been extremely beneficial with talking to students and staff at my practicum teachings.

ASSIGMENT TAKEAWAY 3

My favorite activity from this module would be the Love quiz. Being able to dig deeper into your own preferences and desires is a great way to ensure you’re truly doing the right thing for yourself. This can be a difficult task to do on your own, which is why I found the Love Theory to be so interesting. The breakdown of my subconscious led me to do some real reflection on my personal life. Needless to say, I enjoyed being able to learn more about myself and how to be a better partner.

ASSIGNMENT TAKEAWAY 2

Thus far in Social Psychology, I have learned a variety of new concepts that have helped me explain the unknown. My first takeaway includes social cognition and perception. This chapter shed light on behaviors that would confuse me in the past. Examples like stress and the group affect it can have on mental states. These can be altered such as the conscious and unconscious side of cognition.
