Module 6 archive allowed me to learn more things about myself and the manner in which my practices or behaviors vary in different circumstances. The attributes I used to depict myself included caring, focused, reserved, and adventurous. The attributes I chose are precise portrayals of myself, which I was able to affirm in this module after thinking about specific situations! At the point when we consider how we act in circumstances, we like to imagine that we know how we would act as a result of comparable circumstances that may have occurred. I discovered that despite the fact that a portion of my activities were predictable there were contrasts in every circumstance so you can never know precisely how you will respond until something actually occurs.

Module 8 zeroed in on generalizing stereotypes and discrimination. This was a point I anticipated talking about. Being an individual who has had encounters in concerns of race, this module was very significant to me. Lamentably, prejudice is still significant in the present; along these lines, it is important for this topic to be talked about. The fact that I was able to acknowledge that it was so natural to label others and stereotype from my own experiences and observations was almost saddening. We as a whole have different characters and some of them are probably going to be defamed. While it might seem like we should simply quit focusing on generalizations, it frequently isn’t unreasonably simple. Deceptions about our identities effectively transform into a voice of self uncertainty in our minds that can be difficult to disregard. All in all, our stereotypes change constantly by our experiences in life, those we surround ourselves with and values. Perceiving which terms fit best with each ethnic or racial group  simply demonstrates how shockingly they are utilized often in the present society.

stereotypes

I included the image above to show that stereotyping comes from all races and don’t simply show up all of a sudden . Stereotyping depend on thoughts and encounters with specific gatherings and are afterward seen and  stretched out to apply to a whole gathering unfortunately.

Module 7 gave me the chance to reflect on oneself and the perspectives I hold towards many things in life. Being an individual who struggles with my mental health at times,  I constantly question just about everything and how I view myself which alters the way I think about certain things. When I feel these types of thoughts or feelings I tend to allow my mind to swarm with the negativity at times to the point where I can no longer take it. When I reach the point where I am at the lowest of lows, I then try to build myself back up to the best of my ability by working out to clear my thoughts as well as reading to escape reality. It’s important for me to align my behavior on my own rather than in the presence of others simply because I don’t enjoy presenting myself to those around me when I’m not myself. Although the way I approach the feeling of dissonance isn’t the best, It does help me temporarily. I appreciate and found it interesting at the fact that I was able to dig deeper into my character. I now trust that it’s beneficial to think back, inspect and reflect on some of the decisions created and right the ones that were made and don’t really don’t mirror my true character. I additionally discovered that I consistently adhere to my convictions which isn’t a bad thing. All in all, after completing the survey from this module, it made me consider various components that might have added to my previous encounters and my reactions or behavior.

What does depression feel like? Go inside the mind of a depressed person

I chose the image above to show how complex my mind is when it comes to self reflection and the thoughts and feelings involved in the process. I additionally came across a quote that every individual should live by the next time they go about reflecting on their life, “Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful.” – Margaret J. Wheatley.

In module 3 we had discussed if similarities attract vs. opposites attract. I selected a few companions to answer whether they thought opposites are inclined toward one another or individuals who share similarities are. I looked forward to this assignment because I was interested in hearing the responses and it gave me a chance to analyze the results and compare them to my thoughts. The results were nothing that I expected but they all came from different experiences in friendships vs. relationships. Majority of those I had asked responded with similarities attract. With similarities in interests, ideas, or attitudes it’s typical for individuals to interact with one another for a start. A person can be attracted to another person and enjoy their presence but more aspects lie into taking the next step of possibly creating a relationship, which could differ completely. That being said, I seemed to have a different view. I believed that two individuals who are complete opposites could be an interesting pair. Opposites allow people to teach one another new things in life or share new experiences and come to a liking of what those may be. Somehow in the mix, a balance can be found for sure. All in all I learned that this theory can be tested and differ depending on the pair.

The Unconscious Reasons that Opposites Attract

I chose this image because although I asked a selective few friends at first for results, I also proceeded to collect my data by doing two polls through a social media account which altered many positions on this discussion. The first poll  was given the option to decide between the two, “opposites attract” and “similarity leads to attraction”. The results for the first poll came down to people believing opposites attract. For the second poll I asked for feedback and thoughts on as to why they believe what they had chose in the previous poll. I received responses back implying that it depends and other aspects fall in line, which were my thoughts exactly.

From seeing and observing what individuals search for on dating apps or sites, it appears to be in unison with the research found in module 9. Module 9 consisted of discussing liking, love, and other relationships. I enjoyed this module simply because it was something I’ve never thought to look into which made the information more intriguing. That being said, from the studies, it seems as though most men search for or are interested in captivating beautiful women while women search for monetarily stable men. I’ve discovered that a woman’s approach to finding accomplices consider of who can uphold them and deal with them and their posterity in the future. Then again, men have it a lot simpler, so they can search for more shallow characteristics like actual quality over personalities but this all depends on the man. Within dating sites, it appears individuals know about these patterns and will in general promote themselves accordingly when creating their profile.

Love Island (American TV series) - Wikipedia

I chose this image because recently I had been watching a show called Love Island and I’ve realized that it is quite similar in relation to module 9.  This show can confirm just how true men and women’s approach and thought processes to engaging in finding love and relationships is. Although this is reality rather than through a site, individuals are still able to put up an image within the show and be a completely different individual after leaving and facing life outside of being on camera in their new relationships made.
