Over the last three months in Sport and Strategic Communication, I have learned so much! I think one of the main things that I will take from this class and use in my sport/communication career is all of the things that we learned about sport and athlete activism. I don’t think this is talked about enough and I’m glad Professor O’Hallarn took the time to go over that crucial part in sports. I think my favorite assignment in this class was the Single and Ready to bingo assignment. I choose to make all of mine covid-19 friendly and it helped me bring to light all of the stuff people can do to participate in sports while also being safe that most people would not think of. Another one of my favorite parts of this class was getting to interact with other schools around the country doing the same assignments as we did and seeing all the different perspectives on the assignments. Professor O’Hallarn also brought in special guests and speakers to the class which I also believe is not only very beneficial to our learning but also to our future careers. It gave us a chance to meet and learn from people who are already in the sports industry.
