Hello! My name is Madison Baker and I\u2019m looking to pursue a career in the music education field. I was born October 22, 2004 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Growing up, I have always had interest in music. I started off in a choir up until age 9 where I would sing with my church. During this time, I have always had a dream of being in a musical theatre. However, I discovered a new passion that I have picked up, which was playing the viola. At the age of 10, I started my musical career and excelled rapidly according to my previous instructors. I am an alum of the instrumental music department of the Governor\u2019s School for the Arts and graduated as a 3rd year senior as well as being an alum of the Bay Youth Orchestras of Virginia, where I participated in three ensembles for five years. Being involved in the performing arts was extremely crucial to me growing up, but I realized that I would rather teach students about music in hopes they gain the amount of passion I have.<\/p>\n

I began my teaching career in high school. Although, it was not a classroom experience, it did give me some insight on how to teach music. I would tutor those from my old middle\/high school who were struggling with some music material, whether it was music theory, they had an audition coming up, or they overall just needed a critique with some additional help. I realized that I wanted to make a career out of teaching because of the sense of satisfaction I saw of the people that I was helping, seemingly looking relieved or even happy.<\/p>\n

Outside of music, I am always doing some form of art. As a way of getting my art out there, I would sell my art to people that were interested in my works. I love to sketch, make digital creations, paint, and make many pieces of art. I also have a huge love for animals and marine life so I am always up for a discussion about those topics!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
