Reflection

Throughout this class I have learned many things that benefitted me. One perspective of mine that has changed is the way I go about my writing. Instead of trying to get all my writing perfect the first time which often caused worry, I have learned that writing is meant to come together throughout all the work and processes. That it is okay for it to not be great from the start and that it needs to grow as the information gathered and the writer grow throughout the writing.  The most useful and my favorite thing to learn was how to voice my opinion in a proper but assertive way. With the research paper I learned how to research my side of the argument and state my opinion in a professional way. The with the Evaluation Essay I got to state my opinion in a fun way, this paper didn’t take me much research because it was mostly on my personal experiences, and stating my opinion is one of my favorite writing processes. Before this class I always struggle with annotating and have a “conversation” with the text, but since all the analysis of the police brutality essays I have since learned how to have a conversation with the text and form opinions and questions as I go. For the future I hope I get less frustrated with my writings and let them grow as I grow as a writer. I aim to be better at making my writing flow and not rushing the process.
