Feminism

For feminism, I chose to examine “Eveline” by James Joyce. Joyce conveys an internal struggle of feminism through Eveline’s eyes as he captures the function of patriarchy and how it operates. I liked this text because it talked about the decision making process and struggle the women of the time went through.  Before I learned about feminism and patriarchy, I never really understood what they meant. I heard the words being uses but I didn’t understand. Now, after reading the chapter in Tyson, doing my preps, and applying the theory to an example, I can finally jump in on the conversation of patriarchy and how it affects society.
