Psychoanalytic Criticism is one of my favorite that we talked about all year. Through this theory I learned how to be patient and let the characterization happen, the motives of characters, and the underlying problems as to why a character is behaving in a certain way. “Porphyria’s Lover” by Robert Browning has a few of the most complex character narrative that I have ever seen but through psychoanalysis criticism I was able to understand the mindset of this character and get a sense of the unconscious mind of oppressed individuality.
