The media has a huge impact on how people see cybersecurity, but it’s not always accurate. Movies and TV shows make hacking look super dramatic, like someone in a dark room typing crazy fast to break into a system in seconds. News outlets tend to focus on big cyberattacks, which makes cybersecurity seem like something only huge companies need to worry about. At the same time, a lot of people think just having antivirus software is enough because that’s what ads push. The reality is way more complicated. While the media helps spread awareness, it often leaves out the everyday risks and best practices. That’s why it’s important to learn from actual cybersecurity experts, not just headlines and Hollywood.
