HMSV 440W PROGRAM DEV-IMPLEMENT-FUNDING
Through my participation in HMSV 440W, I acquired valuable skills such as effective communication with peers and the ability to assess and execute programs within the human services sector. Understanding the fundamental purpose of evaluation became evident as it contributes to enhancing service quality through feedback on program activities and outcomes, facilitating necessary adjustments. A significant realization for me was the importance of providing honest feedback to organizations, aiding them in identifying areas for improvement. Moreover, I clarified the distinction between goals and objectives, recognizing that goals outline broader aspirations while objectives specify actionable steps toward achieving them. This insight has enabled me to formulate clearer and more attainable plans, both personally and professionally. Embracing the notion that success often involves trial and error, I’ve developed a greater resilience towards setbacks. In my career, soliciting and offering feedback on services has become a priority, replacing my previous casual approach. Recognizing the value of honesty and transparency, I established a beneficial rapport with my professor, receiving valuable guidance and support. I’ve learned the importance of seeking assistance when needed, even if the questions may seem trivial. My advice to newcomers to this course would be to actively engage with their professors, leveraging their expertise to enhance their learning experience.
