Andriy Slynchuk’s Review and Discussion

Andriy Slynchuk’s article on the digital rights issue is clearly a reminder of people’s role in the digital environment. Slynchuk, however, broke down the most common online activities, making the audience realize that they may not be aware of the legal consequences or the consequences that they may face. As exemplified in one of the sections, for example, where copyrighted content may be streamed and personal information can be shared without consent, there is coverage of the whole range of problems that internet usage can cause. In addition, it is worth mentioning that bullying, identity fraud, and illegal searches dominate the essence of internet activity, which makes it the main concern of all of society. Andriy (2021) makes the point that these risks exist, but on the other hand, he shows how one can stay safe on the internet by taking precautionary steps like limiting information sharing and using VPNs. Slynchuk achieves this objective by helping readers have a clear understanding of the digital world and how they can do it safely. Slynchuk’s review gives a good basis for those who are determining where to place their focus and how to protect their interests in the digital environment.

The practice of using illegal streaming services and torrent platforms that allow for access to copyrighted content is a serious offense because it is detrimental to the rights of copyright holders and promotes a culture of piracy, which affects the actions of industries and economies. Further, sharing personal information without consent could be the biggest risk ever one would encounter because it could bring about a series of unwanted situations, including identity theft, harassment, and even the potential for physical assault. Besides, bullying and trolling not only cause emotional distress but can even develop into criminal charges that can have severe implications for victims and perpetrators. Moreover, the failure to obtain consent to listen to VoIP calls infringes on the fundamental norms of privacy and confidentiality, jeopardizing trust and probably transgressing legal guidelines. Finally, identity fraud through online impersonation is particularly serious because it contributes to various cyber issues, such as financial fraud and reputational damage, and decreases confidence in digital relationships (Andriy, 2021). These crimes are not only unlawful, but they are also transgressing the personal freedoms and transnational values that are shaping up in the digital age. Adding them to the issue needs to be done collectively in order to cultivate a common sense of security and ethics online for all people around the world.
