While technology is extremely helpful for businesses, individuals, and organizations people still have to be involved with these machines and networks. Any time a human is involved there is room for human mistake and human emotions. One emotion that can drive a person is greed. Cyber technology makes it easier for some people who are working for a business, an individuals, or organization to gain access to personal information for that business, individual, or organization. With the personal information they obtain they can use it to hack other websites the user uses, create an entirely new persona using the users information, take out loans, ruin their credit, and so much more that can have a huge negative impact on the user. Cyber technology has also created opportunities for work place deviance by giving employees and other people the opportunity to access corporate information. A person steals who steals a corporation’s information can do they same thing they would do with a individuals information, but they can also sell the corporations information to rival companies, so that it starts losing business. For example, if someone who worked for McDonald’s stole their BigMac recipe and sold it to Burger King, Burger King could use that information to make Big Mac’s and sell them under a different name. This could steal some McDonald’s customers and they could lose money while Burger King would start gaining money. Cyber technology in the workplace could create deviances that could lead to distractions. There ae some jobs that needs an individuals full attention and any distractions could cause catastrophic events that could hurt or even kill many people. You would want the pilot and co-pilot of your plane plane getting distracted for a long period of time while flying you to your destination. Sometimes a little distraction won’t hurt anybody, but other times it could be the difference of life and death.
